Call for Chapters: Informatics and its Pervasive Applications: Student Projects to Change the World

Objective

Information processing plays an indispensable role in our current life. Informatics provides applications based on sound mathematical models, designed to address the complex and difficult problems our society faces. How can we contribute in order to solve real-life problems? How can we support the sustainable development of our world?

The book is meant to present applications that your students have developed, inspired by the needs of our global society. Environmental Informatics, Urban Informatics, Energy Informatics, Medical Informatics, Geoinformatics, Social Informatics or any other area can be approached; frameworks and case studies or projects may be presented. The content of the book is intended to enhance instruction in Informatics through modern and inspired applications.

Target Audience

Researchers working in projects dedicated to societal problems, large-scale challenges, ambient intelligence, multi-agent systems, agro-environmental sustainability, logistics, landscape architecture, ubiquitous computing, etc.

Teachers involved in adult education in Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, and Education Sciences.

People involved in organizational development, local communities, operational frameworks.

Submission Procedure

Authors are invited to submit on or before March 31, 2015, April 15, 2015 a chapter proposal which should contain: title, authors name and affiliation, abstract (200 words), outline of the chapter (1 page).

Note: we reserve the right to adjust the title and content to make the chapters better fit together. The complete chapter (before June 30, 2015), should be no more than 15 pages.

All manuscripts are accepted based on a peer review editorial process.
